Is There Still a Place for a Site Like eW Place?

An Open Letter of Thoughts to the Community

eW Place was announced in 2025, and I added whatever archives I had at the time.

Those archives came from various fantasy wrestling resource sites I had run over the years. Places like eW Mania, EWZine, and eW Spot were just footnotes in the history of the fantasy wrestling “resource site,” and I had the pleasure of operating them during my time in the hobby. A few new articles were created, but for the most part, eW Place sat dormant for most of 2025 and the start of 2026.

Why? Life, really.

See, I have a unique life out here in Las Vegas. During the day, I oversee production and post-production for independent movies and television. At night — well, four nights a week, typically — I help run MicroMania Tour Midget Wrestling during their residency (the only true wrestling residency in Las Vegas) at the world-famous Nerd Bar in Downtown Vegas. Both of those things can be very time-consuming, to say the least. On top of that, I went through three major bouts of illness during that same stretch, and they almost took me out. So, to be honest, getting eW Place going was not at the top of my priority list.

And quite frankly, the seeming lack of interest from people did not help motivate me much either.

Then one day recently, while I was working on a new coding project, I started thinking about eW Place and how I had never really done anything with it. I thought about how, when I first set it up, I used eFed Management Suite to do so — and that software was built to run eFeds, not resource sites. So I set aside what I had been working on and started writing eW CMS. Whether it would be used for eW Place or just released for others to use, I did not know. But there I was, writing yet another software script.

As I finished the beta version, I decided to import all of the eW Place content into it and use the site as a test. Even if nothing else came from it, at least I would have a demo site, right?

But then the itch grew, and I decided: I’ve done this before, and I’ll do it again.

Fantasy wrestling needs a resource site.

Look around. They pretty much do not exist anymore. It feels like each fed now has its own “resource” and “real world” structure built around itself. The problem is the bubble effect that creates. What do you know about fed XYZ over there doing something different? Were you aware that there is a script out there that does ZYX? Probably not. Because not many people are really trying to connect as many pieces of the hobby together anymore.

That’s where eW Place comes in.

It is still a work in progress, but at least every day it is getting a little more traction. Maybe a share or two here. A new visitor there.

I’ve done this before. It takes time. But in this day and age, I have to wonder: is there still a place in our hobby for a resource site?

Maybe there is not. Maybe that is why they do not seem to exist anymore.

It is an internal battle, not too far removed from how fed heads feel when trying to get a new eFed off the ground. Why am I doing this? Who will come? Is this all a waste of time? But the truth is, even if there are only four or five people keeping their eyes on the product, that is still four or five people you are reaching.

And while I certainly think the landscape of fantasy wrestling has changed over the years, one thing really has not changed since I first discovered it in the late 1990s: this is a game that anyone from any walk of life can play.

And as long as that is still true, there will always be a place for a fantasy wrestling resource site. A place where you can discover new feds you may have never known existed. A place to read articles and opinions from others that may change how you look at the game — or how you play it. A place where you can download a script built specifically to help run your fed, instead of something hacked together from somewhere else.

Yeah, it will take time to grow. But all good things do.

It is word of mouth. It is me showing up, putting my money where my mouth is, and delivering new things on a consistent basis — growing the brand, growing the content, growing the staff, and getting it out there. It is not lost on me that I have a lot of work ahead. But I am ready.

So with that, I want to welcome you to eW Place. Whether this is the first editorial you are reading on the site, or you have already been watching from the sidelines, eW Place’s tagline says it best:

eW Place — Your Place for All of eWrestling.

I hope you enjoy your stay.
